My name is Abdirahman M. Ali, and I founded Walaal because I was tired.
Tired of seeing money raised for the poor disappear before reaching them.
Tired of seeing reports that looked good on paper while families around me still struggled.

Growing up Somali, I saw firsthand how aid often failed the people it was meant to serve. Money came into the country, but too often it got lost — to corruption, to favoritism, to endless bureaucracy. The result? The people in need were left behind.

I realized something: the real problem wasn’t a lack of donations.
The real problem was a lack of honesty.

That’s why I founded Walaal — not as just another NGO, but as a direct response to wasted charity and broken trust.
